Markets closed for Thanksgiving

See how the holiday affects Fidelity.

The New York Stock Exchange and other markets are closed Thursday, November 22, 2012, in observance of Thanksgiving Day.

On Friday, November 23, the NYSE will close at 1 p.m. ET. The bond market will close at 2 p.m. ET.

Here is how the holiday affects Fidelity:

  • Investor Centers: Closed Thursday; closing Friday at 3 p.m. local time.

Exchanges and markets

  • NYSE, Nasdaq, AMEX, all options exchanges: Closed Thursday; stock markets close at 1 p.m. ET on Friday.
  • Directed trading: Closed Thursday; open from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. ET on Friday.
  • Extended-hours trading: Closed Thursday. re-market trading will be available Friday, and Fidelity will participate in the after-hours session from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. ET.
  • International trading: International exchanges are open.
    • International market and currency access: Orders entered through the Trade Stocks International Trade ticket will be eligible for execution.
    • General foreign equity trading: International orders (foreign ordinaries) entered after 4:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 21, through the domestic trade ticket using the five-letter pink sheet symbol, will be queued for the next trading day
  • Listed fixed income market: Closed Thursday; closing at 2 p.m. ET Friday.
  • Over-the-counter fixed income market: Closed Thursday; closing at 2 p.m. ET Friday.
